BreAnna began her nursing career working in critical care in both small and large hospital settings throughout Virginia and West Virginia. While critical care was exciting and often very rewarding, she repeatedly found herself drawn to maternal-child health. During a difficult journey with infertility, she began to connect with women all over the world that were experiencing their own unique journeys to grow their families. She also began assisting on the OB unit where she witnessed her first vaginal birth. At this point, she knew that midwifery was the next step in her nursing career. She pursued her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University and became a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) in 2021. She uses her role as a CNM to support all birthing people and their families while also remaining committed to fighting the systemic issues that contribute to poorer outcomes during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in the United States, particularly among racial minorities.
